Custom Rigging Tolerance
We pride ourselves in probably having the most experienced and fastidious riggers in the dinghy/small boat market. However, it is just not possible to make wire rigging to very tight tolerances, whoever makes it! The hydraulic presses that are used to finish the rigging ends have a tolerance and so do the measuring tapes, wire etc. Therefore you need to be able to allow for a tolerance of +/-10mm in your adjusters, this is normally perfectly reasonable and easy to accommodate. Note: when we are making a pair of stays, we will make particular effort to match the lengths. There should be very little difference in length between the pair, this is key i.e. the length tolerance is less so.
Measurements are always in mm's and from (load) bearing surface to (load) bearing surface i.e. "L" in diagram below.
